Williams extends hit streak in doubleheader split

Follow @IronPigsThe Lehigh Valley IronPigs (40-42) and Buffalo Bisons (43-41) split their double header on Wednesday night in Buffalo. Nick Williams has extended his hitting streak to 22 games, one shy of the team-record (23, Scott Kingery).

Game 1


Reese McGuire hit a walk-off two-run single off Austin Davis (2-1) to win the game 5-4 in the bottom of the eighth inning. 
Lehigh Valley jumped to a 2-0 lead against T.J. Zeuch in the top of the second inning.  Nick Williams scored on an RBI groundout and Rob Brantly hit an RBI double to score Shane Robinson. Patrick Kivlehan homered off Enyel De Los Santos in the bottom of the second inning to cut the Pigs lead to 2-1. 
Andrew Romine hit an RBI single off Justin Shafer in the top of the seventh inning to give the IronPigs a 3-1 lead. Sócrates Brito hit an RBI double and Bo Bichette hit an RBI single off De Los Santos in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game at 3-3. 
De Los Santos was strong through 6 1/3 innings as he allowed three runs (two earned) off six hits and one walk with five strikeouts.  Jordan Romano (2-2) earned the win by pitching the top of the eighth inning. 

Game 2


José Taveras pitched three scoreless innings before handing the game over to the IronPigs bullpen. Lehigh Valley took a 2-0 lead against Edwin Jackson in the top of the fourth inning as Adam Haseley hit a two-run home run - his first triple A home run. Buffalo tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning as Billy McKinney hit an RBI triple and Patrick Kivlehan hit an RBI double. 
Bo Bichette gave Buffalo a 3-2 lead in the top of the fifth inning against Fernando Salas before the IronPigs scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning to take a 5-3 lead.  Austin List hit an RBI double off Corey Copping (2-2) and Ali Castillo added an RBI single. 
Kivlehan homered in the bottom of the sixth inning and Austin List hit a sacrifice fly to score Matt McBride - giving Lehigh Valley a 6-4 lead and eventual win. 
Kyle Dohy (2-4) earned the win while Edubray Ramos earned his fourth save of the season.
The IronPigs return home on Thursday night to play the Pawtucket Red Sox. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
