IronPigs, PawSox raise the 'steaks' for Super Bowl LII

February 1, 2018

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs and Pawtucket Red Sox have placed a friendly wager on the outcome of Super Bowl LII.

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs and Pawtucket Red Sox have placed a friendly wager on the outcome of Super Bowl LII.

The IronPigs, Philadelphia's Triple-A affiliate, will of course back the Eagles while the PawSox, Boston's top farm club, will side with the Patriots.
An Eagles victory would be extra sweet at Coca-Cola Park. Should Doug Pederson's team knock off the evil empire and secure Philadelphia's first Lombardi Trophy, The PawSox will send 52 clam cakes and 52 stuffed quahogs (or "stuffies") over to IronPigs Way along with a set of "G.O.A.T. #12" bobbleheads that will also be given away to the first 3,000 fans at McCoy Stadium for their July 13 contest vs. Syracuse.
If the Patriots scrape together enough points to escape Minnesota with a victory, the IronPigs will deliver 52 delicious Philly cheesesteaks and Cheesesteaks apparel from the successful 2016 Minor League Promotion of the Year (see www.lvcheesesteaks.com) to Rhode Island. PawSox staffers would be able to look good in their Cheesesteaks gear while enjoying their prize.
"We're happy to add a little flavor to our offseason as we gear up for Spring Training," said IronPigs President and General Manager Kurt Landes. "There will be no better way for our staff to celebrate an Eagles' victory than with a fine lunch from our friends in New England."
