IronPigs stampeded by Bisons

Buffalo broke up a 2-2 tie in the bottom on the 8th inning (Buffalo, NY) – The Buffalo Bisons (60-51) scored three runs against Jace Fry (3-1) in the bottom of the eighth inning to break up a 2-2 tie and eventually hold on to defeat the Lehigh Valley IronPigs

Buffalo broke up a 2-2 tie in the bottom on the 8th inning

(Buffalo, NY) – The Buffalo Bisons (60-51) scored three runs against Jace Fry (3-1) in the bottom of the eighth inning to break up a 2-2 tie and eventually hold on to defeat the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (61-51) 5-2 on Tuesday evening. Zack Collins hit a go-ahead two-run double against Fry then Nathan Lukes hit an RBI triple to score Collins.

Buffalo took a 2-0 lead against Ofreidy Gomez in the bottom of the first inning. Collins hit a sacrifice fly that scored Otto Lopez and Vinny Capra hit an RBI double that scored Spencer Horwitz. Dalton Guthrie tied the game at 2-2 for Lehigh Valley in the top of the sixth inning as he hit a two-run home run against Thomas Hatch. The home run was Guthrie’s ninth of the season and extended his on-base streak to 12 games.

Julian Merryweather (1-0) earned the win for Buffalo as he pitched two scoreless innings and recorded two strikeouts. Matt Gage earned his 11th save of the season by pitching a scoreless top of the ninth inning.

The IronPigs and Bisons will play again on Tuesday evening at Sahlen Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
