Moosic, Pennsylvania (April 21, 2024) – The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (9-9) salvaged a series split with a 7-4 victory over the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (13-7) on Sunday afternoon at PNC Field.

With dueling zeros on the scoreboard through the first three innings, the IronPigs broke the ice in the fourth. Scott Kingery roped a two-run double and Nick Podkul drove in Kingery with a base hit.

The RailRiders got a run back in the last of the fourth as Everson Pereira doubled to open the inning and came in to score on a sacrifice fly.

Darick Hall smoked his second homer of the year opening up the fifth but the RailRiders answered with two in the last of the fifth on a Pereira RBI triple and then an RBI groundout scoring Pereira to make it 4-3.

Hall drove in his second run of the game when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the sixth. Again, the RailRiders trimmed it back to a one-run game in the seventh on a sacrifice fly.

Weston Wilson put the game to bed with a two-run blast, his first of the year, in the eighth to make a 7-4 IronPigs lead.

Ryan Burr (S, 1) fired a perfect ninth, striking out two, to claim his first save of the season.

Taijuan Walker (1-0) collected the win for the IronPigs, working 6.1 innings and allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks, striking out one.

Edgar Barclay (1-1) suffered the loss for the RailRiders, conceding four runs (two earned) in 4.2 innings on five hits and three walks, striking out five.

Following an off-day on Monday, the IronPigs return home to Coca-Cola Park on Tuesday, April 23 to begin a six-game series against the Charlotte Knights. Starters to open the series have yet to be announced.
