The Triple-A Philadelphia Phillies were shut out at home Monday, falling to the Triple-A Pittsburgh Pirates 4-0.

Offense was hard to come by for the Phillies, who mustered just four hits and stranded seven runners on base. Cord Sandberg, Malquin Canelo, Kyle Martin and Deivi Grullon each had hits in the ballgame for the Phillies.
Canelo spent the 2017 season in Double-A with the Fightin Phils and was added to the IronPigs roster for the IL Playoffs. Appearing in 112 games for Reading, the 23-year-old batted .226 with six home runs and 34 RBIs. The Phillies signed the Dominican Republic native back in 2012, and three years later he was the South Atlantic League All-Star game Top Star.
Enyel De Los Santos made the start for the Phillies and went four innings, surrenduring two unearned runs on a pair of hits.Joey DeNato was first out of the pen and tossed two scoreless innings, striking out one. Parker Frazier, Austin Davis and Pat Neshek each added an inning of relief for the Phils.
De Los Santos, a non-roster invitee this spring is one of the top arms in the Phillies system. Acquired from the Padres for Freddy Galvis this winter, the 22-year-old has an electric fastball and a knack for commanding the strike zone. De Los Santos made 24 starts for Double-A San Antonio last year and racked up 10 wins. With Double-A experience under his belt, the Dominican native could land a spot in the IronPigs rotation to start the 2018 season.
The Triple-A Phillies will play for the fourth straight day on Tuesday when they head to Lakeland to battle the Triple-A Detroit Tigers.
