Offense was hard to come by for the Phillies, who mustered just four hits and stranded seven runners on base.
Canelo spent the 2017 season in Double-A with the Fightin Phils and was added to the IronPigs roster for the IL Playoffs. Appearing in 112 games for Reading, the 23-year-old batted .226 with six home runs and 34 RBIs. The Phillies signed the Dominican Republic native back in 2012, and three years later he was the South Atlantic League All-Star game Top Star.
De Los Santos, a non-roster invitee this spring is one of the top arms in the Phillies system. Acquired from the Padres for Freddy Galvis this winter, the 22-year-old has an electric fastball and a knack for commanding the strike zone. De Los Santos made 24 starts for Double-A San Antonio last year and racked up 10 wins. With Double-A experience under his belt, the Dominican native could land a spot in the IronPigs rotation to start the 2018 season.
The Triple-A Phillies will play for the fourth straight day on Tuesday when they head to Lakeland to battle the Triple-A Detroit Tigers.
