HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Carolina scored right away in the top of the first inning, when Ashton McGee went yard on Hillcats starter Jordan Jones (2-6). The homer put the Mudcats up 1-0.
  • After Lynchburg was held scoreless in the first and second innings by Carolina starter Nick Belzer, the Mudcats added another score. McGee picked up another RBI when he pushed Andre Nnebe home with a single up the middle, putting the ‘Cats up 2-0.
