BRADENTON, Fla. - In a game that took over three hours to complete nine innings, the Bradenton Marauders dropped the first game of a three game set to the Fort Myers Miracle on Friday night.

Luis Escobar started his third game of the year in the loss, as the right-hander earned a no decision after tossing 5.1 innings on 88 pitches and allowed two earned runs on six hits while striking out five and walking his first two batters of the year. Jess Amedee threw 2.1 innings in relief, giving up one run on one hit with a strikeout and a walk. After Bo Schultz worked a hitless eighth inning, Jordan Jess took the loss, allowing a single run on a sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth that gave the visitors a 4-3 lead.

The Marauders were only able to scratch across six hits, with half of them coming off the bat of Tyler Gaffney, who registered a double along with a pair of singles and a run scored in the defeat. Adrian Valerio drove in a pair of runs on a fifth inning single, giving the shortstop five runs batted in over his last two games.

Bradenton continues their three game series against the Fort Myers Miracle to LECOM Park on Friday, as the Twins affiliate sets up camp in Bradenton through Sunday. LHP Cam Vieaux will get the ball for the Marauders and will be opposed by RHP Brady Anderson for the Miracle.
