BRADENTON, Fla. - In the final rehab appearance for Major League reliever A.J. Schugel with the Bradenton Marauders, the home side dropped a lopsided 11-1 decision on Wednesday night. The Palm Beach Cardinals took the first two games in the three game set, as the visitors limited Bradenton to a single run for the second consecutive night.

Schugel tossed a scoreless, hitless first inning as he worked through four hitters on 20 pitches, including a strikeout to end the inning. James Marvel took the loss, as the righty threw five full innings and allowed six earned runs on six hits with two walks and four strikeouts, as his ERA moved to 4.60 on the young season.

Bradenton's lone run came in the top of the fifth inning when Alfredo Reyes led the frame off with a single, then promptly stole second base to get in scoring position for Jared Oliva to drive him in with a single up the middle. At that point in the game the score was 3-1, as Palm Beach had knocked in two of their four total home runs in the game, with a pair of blasts coming off the bat of Andy Young

Bradenton finishes their three game set against Palm Beach on Thursday, with LHP Oddy Nunez starting for the Marauders and RHP Mike O'Reilly toeing the slab for the Cardinals, first pitch scheduled for 6:30 pm.
