MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Tyler Lyons struck out six over a season-high eight shutout innings to lead the Memphis Redbirds to a 3-0 win over the visiting Round Rock Express on Monday night at AutoZone Park.

With the win, the Redbirds ended a three-game losing skid and avoided their first four-game series sweep in nearly two seasons.

Lyons continued his success again the Express, moving to 5-1 with a 0.86 ERA (4er/42.0ip) and 40 strikeouts over six career starts since 2012.

The Redbirds left-hander scattered six hits and walked one as the Redbirds turned three double plays over his eight frames.
