Redbirds Take Flight with a Season of Promotions

Silly Bandz Sundays, 12 fireworks nights, Rockey's Rockin' Readers and ZOOperstars!

MEMPHIS, TN - With Opening Day tomorrow, the Memphis Redbirds are eager to introduce their 2011 promotional schedule.

There are several giveaways on hand for the season. Every Sunday 500 Silly Bandz will be distributed. Redbirds magnet schedules brought to you by Ferraro's Pizzeria and Pub and Big League Movers go to the first 5,000 fans April 8. 500 recycled bags will be passed out April 28, courtesy of Waste Management. On Thursday, May 12, flyswatters will be handed out, presented by Cook's Pest Control. There will be a DiGiorno team card set giveaway on July 1. MLGW is sponsoring a light bulb giveaway on July 19. 3,000 Redbirds' gym bags will be handed out on August 12 while Redbirds' lunchboxes sponsored by US Foodservice will go to the first 2,000 children on September 2.

Daily promotions have filled the season and support the Memphis Redbirds fun, affordable, family atmosphere. Only on Mondays can fans purchase Tickets for Peanuts brought to you by Hampton Farms where they'll receive half off game day ticket prices with a receipt from Kroger showing a purchase of peanuts, limit four. KRAFT Singles Tuesday Night Tickets: Buy 1 Ticket, Get 1 Free from KRAFT Singles with purchase. Bring your package wrapper to a Redbirds game on Tuesdays for a steal of a deal! Visit kraftsingles.com for more info! Exclusions apply. Any Thursday throughout the season, there will be an all-you-can-eat buffet and field box ticket available for $25.00. The buffet begins once gates open and last for two hours. Also included in Thursday lineup is Subway's Eat Fresh promotion. Fans can receive half of game day ticket prices with a receipt from Subway, limit four. If the Redbirds win, Subway coupons will be distributed upon exit. Weekends at AutoZone Park include, Signature Saturdays, Delta Dental Smile Sundays where kids are given a free hygiene packet on entrance and kids are also able to run the bases every Sunday, led by the members of Rockey's Kids Club presented by Sonic Drive-Ins.

AutoZone Park will feature 12 post-game fireworks shows, with the first taking place on Saturday, April 9. MLGW Education Day is April 26. Our annual Scout Night Camp Out, presented by Fast Fixin', will take place on May 13. TN Education Lottery's Veteran's Appreciation Night will be held on May 29. June 19 will include Prostate Cancer Awareness and a Father's Day celebration with a post-game catch on the field. Alzheimer's Awareness Night is June 30 where the game-worn purple jerseys will be auctioned off afterwards. Rockey's birthday party is July 31 this year, and everyone is invited, brought to you by US Foodservice. August 13 is Organ Donor Night where fans can sign up to become an organ donor and enter to win a keyboard organ from AMRO Music. Rockey's Rockin' Readers will be at the ballpark July 14 and 21 as a reward for the books they have read, courtesy of University of Pheonix, while Fan Appreciation Night falls on September 3.

Traveling acts add to the 2011 calendar as well. The St. Louis Cardinals' mascot Fredbird will be making two appearances compliments of Casino Queen on April 9 and July 16 while Springfield Cardinals' mascot Louie will make his way to AutoZone Park to join Fredbird on April 9. Bark in the Ballpark featuring Jake the Diamond Dog takes place April 30. Friday, June 17, FedEx has sponsored a visit from the Famous 'San Diego' Chicken. Faith and Family night, brought to you by LifeWay Christian and Babytime, falls on June 18 this year with pre-game entertainment and post-game fireworks provided. July 30 the Ground Zero Flag will be on display during First Responders Night, courtesy of MCR Safety. ZOOperstars! will be at the ballpark August 19.

The Redbirds begin their 2011 season with an eight-game homestand against the Oklahoma City RedHawks and the New Orleans Zephyrs from April 7-14.
