Redbirds add 12 fireworks shows to 2011 season

'San Diego' Chicken and ZOOperstars! head to AutoZone Park

MEMPHIS, TN - With Opening Day at AutoZone Park only two and a half months away, the Memphis Redbirds are eager to announce fireworks dates and traveling acts that will be visiting the ballpark this season.

April 9th welcomes the St. Louis Cardinals' mascot, Fredbird, and the Springfield Cardinals' mascot, Louie, to join us for our first fireworks show. Jake the Diamond Dog will make an appearance April 30th when AutoZone Park hosts their second annual "Bark in the Ballpark". This day includes free admission for your canine with the purchase of an outfield box ticket.

The Famous 'San Diego' Chicken who has performed at more than 8,500 games and has made over 17,000 total appearances during his career will join us June 17th. Faith and Family Night will take place June 18th with a pre-game performance by a Christian rock band with post-game fireworks to enjoy.

Fredbird makes a stop in Memphis again on July 16th for another fireworks show. The Heroes of the Diamond, a traveling military baseball team, will present the Ground Zero Flag and have it on display on the concourse during the game July 30th, while ZOOperstars! will be at AutoZone Park August 19th.

The full list of fireworks dates are as follows: April 9th, April 23rd, May 14th, May 29th, June 3rd, June 18th, July 2nd, July 3rd, July 16th, July 30th, August 13th, September 4th.
