Redbirds Announce 2015 Schedule

St. Louis Cardinals Exhibition Game Scheduled For April 3

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Memphis Redbirds released their 2015 Pacific Coast League schedule dates today and will host 72 regular season games at AutoZone Park in addition to a St. Louis Cardinals Exhibition Game.

The Redbirds are excited to open 2015 by hosting the Cardinals in a special exhibition at AutoZone Park on Friday, April 3, giving fans the first glimpse of the 2015 Cardinals in their final pre-season game leading up to Opening Day.

Memphis kicks off its regular season at home on Thursday, April 9 by welcoming the Iowa Cubs (Triple-A Cubs) and Omaha Storm Chasers (Triple-A Royals) during an eight-game homestand.

The 2015 home schedule includes 11 homestands and 32 weekend dates (Fri.-Sun.).

A total of 12 spectacular fireworks nights are at the forefront of next year's home schedule, including the club's annual Red, White, and BOOM Independence fireworks celebration on July 3 and every Saturday home game. Complete fireworks dates are as follows: April 11, April 25, May 9, May 16, May 30, June 13, June 27, July 3, July 11, July 25, August 15, and August 22.

The Pacific Coast League continues its use of an unbalanced 144-game schedule format. The Redbirds will play 16 games (eight home, eight away) against teams in their own conference. Memphis will host each of the four Pacific Conference Southern Division teams - Salt Lake, Las Vegas, Albuquerque, and El Paso - in four-game series at AutoZone Park. The Redbirds will travel to each of the four Pacific Northern clubs - Sacramento, Fresno, Tacoma, and Reno - for four-game sets.

The 2015 season will be the Redbirds' 18th year as Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals in the Pacific Coast League.
