OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma - The first-place Memphis Redbirds (74-45) could not complete the sweep at the Oklahoma City Dodgers (Dodgers), losing the series finale of the four-game series Sunday night in Oklahoma City, Okla., 9-0.
The game was delayed two hours at the onset due to rain. Prior to the 9-0 loss tonight, Memphis defeated Oklahoma City last night, 14-0.
Memphis' two hits came from Tyler O'Neill and Steven Baron. The Redbirds had three errors from their outfielders, with O'Neill committing two and Justin Williams one.
Jake Woodford took the loss, allowing eight runs, four earned, on 11 hits in 4.0 innings. Matt Bowman and Brett Cecil tossed 2.0 scoreless innings, and Landon Beck pitched the final 2.0 innings and gave up one run.
Oklahoma City's Brock Stewart tossed 7.1 shutout innings for the win, striking out five.
The Redbirds put two runners on base in the top of the eighth with a hit by pitch and a walk, but O'Neill lined into a double play to end the inning. The game ended on a double play as well.
