We’re excited to announce that the Nashville Sounds now have an official Tennessee specialty license plate benefiting the Nashville Sounds Foundation.
The plate is available to all Tennessee residents at the time of vehicle registration through the Tennessee Department of Revenue, with a $35 donation supporting the Nashville Sounds Foundation.
- Applicants must be a resident of the State of Tennessee
- Applicant's names and addresses must be listed correctly as applicants will receive correspondence in the mail from the Vehicle Services Division about when plate pick up is available
- Each plateholder will receive a unique set of alpha and numerical digits assigned as the license plate number, which is at the discretion of the Vehicle Services Division
- Personalized plates are not available at this time but will be available at a later date. Please contact the Vehicle Services Division for more specific information
- Limit one deposit per submission. If you'd like additional plates, please complete the submission process for each plate
Pre-purchasing a Tennessee specialty license plate simply means you’re reserving that specific plate design before it’s officially produced and available. The state requires a minimum number of preorders for a new specialty plate to go into production.
You pay the required fee to reserve your plate. We need 1,000 Tennessee residents to preorder the specialty plate before production can begin.
Once the 1,000-plate pre-production goal is reached, the Nashville Sounds Foundation will submit all orders, payments, and artwork to the Tennessee Department of Revenue.
The State will then produce the plates and distribute them to local county clerk offices for pickup.
You will receive a notification by mail from the State when your plate is ready for pickup.
All $35 fees will be donated to support the mission of the Nashville Sounds Foundation and are non-refundable.
Plates are prorated, so you will not lose anything already paid on a license when you change to this plate.
Vanity plates are NOT available in initial production, but will be the following year.
