Sounds Announce New Flagship Station

102.5 FM "The Game" To Broadcast Nashville Baseball Games
February 15, 2012
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club is excited to announce a partnership with 102.5 "The Game" (WPRT-FM) as the team's new flagship station for game broadcasts during the 2012 season.

The Game will air nearly all of the Sounds' 144 games over the airwaves on 102.5 FM in 2012.

"We are thrilled to partner with a growing sports station in the market and to expand our on-air broadcasts to include the majority of our games," said Sounds general manager Brad Tammen.

"We are very excited to be partnering with the Nashville Sounds. 102.5 The Game is locally owned and part of our continuing efforts is to serve the local community. Nashville Sounds baseball has been providing great sports entertainment here for over 34 years and is a perfect fit for us," said 102.5 The Game station manager Jeff Kolb.

Games not broadcast on radio include the following nine dates: April 18, April 24, May 2, May 7, May 9, May 15, June 13, June 26, and August 8. These games will be available to Sounds fans via live internet webcast based at www.nashvillesounds.com.

In addition, a few Sounds broadcasts that conflict with Nashville Predators games will instead air as a simulcast on 102.1 FM, 101.9 FM, and 830 AM. These games include: April 5, April 7, and any potential conflicting Predators playoff games.

Jeff Hem, the new "Voice of the Sounds," will be behind the microphone for all broadcasts during his first season in the Music City. He joined the club in January after spending the previous seven years with the Single-A Kane County Cougars in the Chicagoland market.

Broadcasts will begin approximately 15 minutes prior to game time and will include a five-minute postgame show. The Sounds enter their eighth season as the Milwaukee Brewers' Triple-A affiliate in 2012. The partnership will also include the annual broadcast of the Triple-A All-Star Game, which is slated for July 11 in Buffalo, New York.

102.5 The Game, Nashville's ESPN Radio affiliate, features The First Quarter, a morning drive show hosted by Darren McFarland and former Titan Brad Hopkins, as well as The Sports Revolution, a rapidly-growing afternoon talk show hosted by Willy Daunic and Joe Dubin. Both shows will welcome Sounds players, coaches, and other personnel as on-air guests on a regular basis.

The Sounds kick off their 2012 season with an April 5th road contest in New Orleans and will host 72 home games at Greer Stadium in 2012, beginning with the 7:05 p.m. home opener against New Orleans on Friday, April 13th. Please visit www.nashvillesounds.com for a complete schedule.
