Fisher Cats Win MiLB's "Promo of the Month"

NH Primary Celebration and Bipartisan Jerseys gained national acclaim
May 10, 2016

MANCHESTER, N.H. - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats celebration of the New Hampshire Primary has been named "Promotion of the Month" for April by Minor League Baseball and the MiLB Promo Seminar.

As part of the award, the Fisher Cats are now finalists for the coveted "Golden Bobblehead" for Promotion of the Year, which is presented at the end of the season. Last year's winner, the Brooklyn Cyclones, were honored for their "Seinfeld Night."

As the Granite State celebrated the 100th anniversary of its presidential primary, the Fisher Cats launched a campaign of their own, "We the Fans 2016." Starting in November of 2015, the interactive campaign allowed fans across the country to participate in New Hampshire's rich political history by casting votes for the official game hat that would eventually be worn by the Fisher Cats on April 14, 2016.

Thousands of fans nation-wide, from all 50 states and the District of Columbia, voted to determine which hat the Fisher Cats would wear for the first game of the season - a blue hat with a donkey logo or a red hat with an elephant logo. The logos on the hats are throwbacks to the Fisher Cats' original name, the New Hampshire Primaries, and the hat was accompanied by the team's bipartisan jersey that is half red and half blue with 'Fisher Cats' in script across the chest.

On Wednesday at 10:35 a.m., the team will host its second Educational Day game, and the attending students have already placed their votes on what hat the Fisher Cats will wear, what kind of music will be played, and much more.
