The 'Cakes opened up a 4-0 lead by scoring a run in the second inning and adding three more in the fifth. Eric Campbell picked up a two-out, two-run double to add to his team-leading 57 runs batted in.
Oklahoma City answered with four runs in the bottom of the fifth, all coming with two outs against 'Cakes starter Tyler Cloyd. Conner Joe had a two-run double and Garlick tied the game with an RBI single.
The Dodgers and 'Cakes went to extra innings for the second consecutive day after the bullpens combined to pitch eight scoreless innings. After New Orleans failed to score in the top of the 10th, OKC advanced to runner to third against Jose Quijada (2-1) before Garlick ended the game with his 14th home run of the year.
Tomas Telis had three hits for the Baby Cakes, who left 11 runners on base.
The Dodgers have won six of their last seven games, including three of the first four in the series, to pull into a first-place tie with Colorado Springs. New Orleans has fallen to a season-low seven games under .500.
New Orleans and Oklahoma City meet for the final time in 2018 in Thursday's series finale, starting at 7:05 p.m.
