The Senators and Akron RubberDucks played a pitchers’ duel Saturday night with Akron winning 2-1. Aldrem Corredor accounted for the Sens only run, a solo home run in the fourth inning. The Senators put their leadoff man on in four of the last five innings including the ninth but couldn’t move the runner past first base.

ON CAPITAL HILL

Seth Romero took the tough luck loss going five innings and allowing two runs on eight hits. He struck out seven and didn’t walk a batter. Jhon Romero followed and pitched two scoreless innings allowing two hits and striking out three. Carlos Navas struck out two and allowed a hit in his only inning of work.

WITH THE GAVEL

Aldrem Corredor homered and had two singles, accounting for three of the Sens five hits. His home run accounted for the only run the Senators scored. Gage Canning and Jacob Rhinesmith both singled for the only other Sens hits.

FILIBUSTERS

The Senators had just one base runner reach second besides the home run by Corredor. Harrisburg won the first two games of the series but have dropped the last three. After walking 18 batters in the first four games of the series, the Sens pitchers didn’t walk a batter Saturday night while combining to strike out 12 ‘Ducks.
