Redbirds to wear St. Jude patient designed jerseys

Players will wear jerseys in honor of the 50th Anniversary of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
August 21, 2012

MEMPHIS, TN - The Memphis Redbirds will be donned in St. Jude Children's Research Hospital patient-designed jerseys on Saturday, August 25 in honor of the hospital's 50th Anniversary.

The St. Jude jerseys are white with navy blue numbers and stripes down the sides with an overall child-inspired look using cartoon numerals. The front features a baseball designed by a St. Jude patient, while the back includes an image drawn by another patient with the script "St. Jude Gives Hope". The St. Jude Children's Research Hospital logo is proudly displayed on the sleeve. All proceeds of the silent and live auctions of these jerseys will be donated to St. Jude in support of their mission to find cures and save children.

"It's always exciting when teams and athletes support the mission of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. We are extremely grateful to the Memphis Redbirds for working with us to create these patient-inspired jerseys and helping St. Jude continue its lifesaving work." said Steele Ford, Senior Director of Sports Marketing for ALSAC/St. Jude.

The Redbirds will first wear their St. Jude jerseys during their visit to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital where they will sign autographs, interact with the children and hand out Redbirds gifts on Thursday, August 23 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
