(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains (17-13, 57-42) trailed the Peoria Chiefs (6-24, 36-63) until the very last pitch on Monday night. Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the ninth, Bo Naylor delivered a two-run, walk-off single to lift the Captains to a 2-1 victory in the rubber game of a three-game series at Classic Park.

Brandon Benson plated the game's first, and for a long time, only run in the second inning. Leandro Cedeno led off the inning with a double and moved to second on a ground out. Benson then lofted a sacrifice fly to centerfield to bring home Benson and give the Chiefs a 1-0 lead.
Captains starter Matt Turner fared well in his Midwest League debut. Outside of the second inning run, the lefty held Peoria off the scoreboard. He pitched 5.2 innings and allowed one run on six hits with four strikeouts and one walk.
The Captains' bullpen supported Turner and stymied the Chiefs across 3.1 shutout frames. Luis Valdez stranded two runners he inherited from Turner and held Peoria scoreless for 1.1 innings. Jake Miednik and Kyle Marman then pitched a scoreless inning apiece. The Captains' pitching staff combined to strand 10 Chiefs runners and Peoria was 0-for-14 with runners in scoring position.
Benson's sacrifice fly held up as the only run until the ninth inning when the Captains rallied against Evan Sisk. Miguel Jerez pinch hit for Josh Rolette and began the inning by walking against the southpaw. Sisk then hit Cody Farhat to put two men on. Connor Smith followed and dropped down a bunt toward third, but Sisk and third baseman Edwin Figuera let the ball roll for an infield single, loading the bases with nobody out. Sisk struck out Quentin Holmes for the second out, but Naylor came through with the big hit.
With the infield drawn in, Naylor roped a line drive into left field. Jerez scored from third and Farhat scored from second to win the game for Lake County. It was the Captains' fourth walk-off win of the season.
Marman (3-2) earned the win for the Captains. The right-hander pitched one scoreless inning in the ninth. He faced the minimum, allowing a leadoff hit before getting a lineout double play. Brendan Donovan hit a line drive to right field and, with Figuera running on the pitch, Farhat doubled off the runner at first. Marman then got Delvin Perez to pop out to center to end the inning.
Sisk (1-6) suffered his second blown save and took the loss. The lefty pitched 1/3 of an inning and allowed two runs on two hits with one walk, one hit batter and one strikeout.
The Captains begin a six-game road trip on Wednesday, starting with a three-game series against the South Bend Cubs. First pitch at Four Winds Field is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
