CT Gets Second Straight Win Over Vermont

Norwich, CT -  Bryant Packard went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored to propel the Connecticut Tigers (9-11) to a 3-1 win over the Vermont Lake Monsters (8-13). This was the fourth win out of the last five games at Dodd Stadium for Connecticut.  
The Tigers got on the board first with an RBI-double down the right-field line by Packard to make it 1-0 scoring Jack Kenley, who reached on the only error of the game.
Marco Jimenez got his first career start. He went three innings giving up one hit with a walk and a strikeout. Cristhian Tortosa (Win, 1-0) pitched the next three innings surrendering one hit with two walks and a strikeout.
Raul De Los Reyes combined to pitch another two scoreless innings with one hit and a strikeout. De Los Reyes has yet to allow a run this season.
Connecticut added to their lead in the bottom of the eighth after loading the bases. Kenley reached on a hit-by-pitch.
He was followed by a Packard single, and a walk by Cooper Johnson. Kona Quiggle and Eliezer Alfonzo each drove in a run on a sacrifice fly to make it 3-0.
Vermont loaded the bases in the top half of the ninth and brought home a run on a walk by Jose Rivas . After a pitching change, Kory Behenna (Save, 2) threw one pitch to get the final out of the contest.  
The Connecticut Tigers are back in action tomorrow looking for the sweep against the Vermont Lake Monsters. This would be the first sweep of the season for the Tigers.
