Curve fall in extras to Fightin Phils in series opener
CURVE, Pa. - The Reading Fightin Phils topped the Altoona Curve, 5-4, on Tuesday at Peoples Natural Gas Field in ten innings. Chace Numata delivered the big hit with an RBI single in the tenth to give the Fightins the lead.
CURVE, Pa. - The Reading Fightin Phils topped the Altoona Curve, 5-4, on Tuesday at Peoples Natural Gas Field in ten innings.
The loss was the second straight for the Curve (58-55), who did not score after the third inning as Reading (60-53) took the series opener.

The Curve answered back in the bottom of the first.
Altoona took the lead in the third inning.
Reading evened the score at 4-4 in the eighth inning with an RBI single by
Sadler went six innings and allowed just the three runs in the first inning. He scattered five hits and walked one while striking out seven.

Right-hander J.T. Brubaker (6-4, 4.70) will start on the mound for the Curve on Wednesday. The Fightin Phils will counter with lefty Cole Irvin (5-2, 4.56). First pitch is set for 7 p.m.
