All season long, Drive infielder Santiago Espinal has proven to be a valuable piece of the roster, and his value was recognized by Drive fans with his selection as the Hale's Jewelers Player of the Year for 2017!
Espinal has provided the Drive with steady defense all season long at shortstop, and he has taken his offensive game to the next level in the second half. Since the All-Star Break, the Miami Dade product has notched a league-high 81 hits, and his .338 batting average in that span ranks second in the South Atlantic League. 
For the season, Espinal owns a .278 average in 120 games with a team-high 133 hits, four homers, and 45 RBI, and he ranks second on the Drive with 20 stolen bases.
Prior to the end of the season, Espinal will be rewarded for his efforts this season with an engraved watch from Hale's Jewelers.
Espinal wasn't the only winner, as Drive fan Troy Franzosa will receive a $500 savings certificate to Hale's Jewelers for casting his vote for the 2017 Player of the Year.
