CHARLESTON, SC - Despite the promotional efforts the past two years, the Charleston RiverDogs have noticed a suspect number of Ohioans still in the Lowcountry.

With the team's new "Be Your Own Fan" mantra in full effect this season, the club viewed this year's promotion as an excellent way for the BYOF voice to be heard. The front office turned to the RiverDogs faithful, asking people to vote online via Facebook and Twitter for which city or region they would most like to send people packing.

The votes have been tallied and the RiverDogs have decided once again to send them back to the middle of the map as it is the club's 3rd Annual "Go Back to Ohio Night" promotion that is set for the team's June 24 contest against the rival Greenville Drive.

And the in-state rival also serves as the clubs' first Charleston meeting between the Yankees and Red Sox's organizations.

While the distaste for all things Red Sox was clearly evident as Boston received a number of votes through the RiverDogs' Facebook page, the "Go Back to Ohio" sentiment was overwhelming.

"Whether you're a fan of all things Ohio or a Lowcountry local looking to stick up for your state we want to see you out at the ballpark on June 24," said RiverDogs assistant general manager and Ohio University alumnus Jim Pfander. "Be Your Own Fan Palmetto Style is always on display at The Joe, but now we get to see it with a little Buckeye State twist."

With the previous success of the tongue-in-cheek promotional nights, the RiverDogs are excited for another night of fun and friendly competition as its Ohio vs. South Carolina in each between-innings promotion.

The club urges fans to get into the spirit on June 24 and come to Riley Park sporting their home state's colors and gear, be it the Buckeye or Palmetto State.  The best-dressed and "winning" Ohioan will receive a one-way bus ticket back to their homeland.

aThe RiverDogs begin a five-game series against the Drive on Thursday, June 24 at 7:05 p.m.  For more information on tickets visit www.riverdogs.com or call the box office at (843) 577-DOGS (3647).
