March 23, 2015

Fresno, Calif. - The entire Central Valley needs to circle Thursday, April 9th and reserve it for Fresno Grizzlies Opening Day. A day unlike any other in Fresno, the Grizzlies front office staff has been preparing the last six months to put on the best entertainment show for residents of all ages. Single-game tickets to Opening Day are on sale now at the Chukchansi Park Box Office and through FresnoGrizzlies.com. For those interested in group rates (15 or more) for Opening Day, or mini plan and season ticket options for the entire season, call a ticket representative at 559.320.TIXS. As a reminder, the box office is located on the H Street side of Chukchansi Park in Downtown Fresno, with hours of operation being Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Presented by Phoenix Coatings, Inc. and The Fresno Bee, Opening Day pregame fun begins at 4:00 p.m. with a free Street Festival that features a performance by Fresno indie-rockers Strange Vine, Golden Stick Wiffle Baseball League games, free pony rides, a bounce house, an interactive skills course from Knights of the Shield Oakland Raiders Booster Club, and music by DJ Kay Rich and DJ Juice.

Gates to the ballpark open at 5:00 p.m. to allow fans to catch the end of batting practice and get a glimpse of what's new at Chukchansi Park. Every fan through the gates on Opening Day will receive a commemorative Growlifornia Republic poster, courtesy of The Fresno Bee. Field entertainment begins at 6:20 p.m. and features the introduction of on-field emcee Nick Haas, Parker's grand mascot entrance, a special dedication ceremony for a unique patch the Fresno Grizzlies will wear on their home uniforms throughout the season, team introductions, a National Anthem performance by Karen Edwards, and the inaugural raising of the Growlifornia Republic Bear Flag.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. and pits the Grizzlies against the Las Vegas 51s, Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets. New Fresno manager Tony DeFrancesco aims to lead the Grizzlies to their first playoff appearance since 1998. DeFrancesco's track record gives the club a tremendous shot as the skipper comes to the Central Valley with three Pacific Coast League championships and seven division titles under his belt. The Astros Triple-A affiliate also enters 2015 looking for their fourth-straight winning season.

In-game entertainment throughout the game will include the Grizzlies Kids Fun Zone, the Grizzlies G-Force promo team, and the NOCO aerial Fresno Dance Collective. After the final out of the game, the evening entertainment concludes with a postgame fireworks show, courtesy of Phoenix Coatings, Inc.

The Fresno Grizzlies will continue their initial homestand through Thursday, April 16th by playing the final three games of the series against Las Vegas (April 10-12) and a four-game series against the Salt Lake Bees (April 13-16), Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels. ABOUT THE BEAR FLAG REBELLION OF 2015

Join the Fresno Grizzlies at the ballpark starting on Opening Day Thursday, April 9th as they embark on the Bear Flag Rebellion of 2015 April through September. Their new position as the Triple-A Baseball affiliate of a non-California team gives them an incredible opportunity to celebrate the unique region of Fresno, deemed Growlifornia. Rooted into the fabric of Fresno culture, #Growlifornia is one-hundred percent unapologetically Central Californian. This new personality is going to wake the Pacific Coast League up to the Fresno Grizzlies this year. With the Central Valley's support, it can also wake California and the rest of the country up to the wonderful city of Fresno.
