The El Paso Chihuahuas scored in six of their eight innings Wednesday and beat the Sacramento River Cats 13-5. It was the largest margin of victory in a Chihuahuas win this year.
Brett Wallace hit a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the first inning to give the Chihuahuas a 1-0 lead. It was the third consecutive game the Chihuahuas scored before their opponent. Sacramento starter Jake Dunning plunked the first two batters of the bottom of the second and Abraham Almonte hit a three-run home run a few batters later to put El Paso ahead 4-0.
After two Sacramento runs in the top of the third, the Chihuahuas sent 10 batters to the plate in a six-run bottom of the third. It set the season high for El Paso runs in an inning. The rally included a two-run home run by Alex Dickerson, his first Triple-A homer, a two-run single by Ramiro Pena and an RBI triple by Jake Goebbert.
Righthanders Stephen Kohlscheen and Leonel Campos pitched scoreless outings out of the Chihuahuas' bullpen. El Paso has won seven of its last eight games.
