Musgrave Whips Rawhide in 2-0 Win

May 25, 2015

Modesto, CA. - Harrison Musgrave was dominant in the Modesto Nuts 2-0 victory over the Visalia Rawhide at John Thurman Field on Monday afternoon.

Musgrave (W, 5-1) retired the first 16 he faced before walking Chuck Taylor. The only other baserunner the lefty allowed was a single to Breland Almadova. Musgrave struck out ten and walked only the one batter in the best start by the Nuts' (23-22) rotation this season.

Blake Perry (L, 4-1) was quite good as well, but could not keep up with Musgrave. The Rawhide (31-14) righty tossed seven innings and work out of some trouble because of seven hits allowed, but he allowed just two runs while striking out six. Raimel Tapia clubbed his fifth home run of the year. Zach Osborne added a sac fly.

Troy Nieman (S, 1/1) worked around two singles with two strikeouts in two scoreless innings to close out the game for the Nuts.
