Wade Wass hits a walk off home run in series finale

(Burlington-IA)-Wade Wass gave the Bees a 6-5 win over the Beloit Snappers on Thursday night, with a walk off home run in the series finale. 

Beloit wasted no time getting the offense in gear, scoring four runs in the first inning, off Bees' starter Austin Robichaux. After Yairo Munoz led off the game with a ground out, Trent Gilbert hit a solo home run over the left field wall, putting the Snappers on top 1-0. Following the home run by Gilbert, James Harris doubled and then scored on a Sandber Pimentel home run, upping the Beloit lead to 3-0. After a a Joe Bennie double, Jose Brizuela hit a ground ball to second, reaching on a fielding error, scoring Bennie extending the Snappers' lead to 4-0.

Trailing 4-0 in the third inning, Jake Yacinich singled and then moved to second on a wild pitch. After Michael Hermosillo walked, Andrew Daniel singled to left to load the bases. Caleb Adams struck out looking, keeping the bases loaded with two outs. Natanael Delgado launched a ball over the right center field wall, a grand slam, tying the game up at four. 

Max Kuhn got Beloit's offense started again, with one out in the fourth inning, doubling to left. With two outs, Jose Chavez shot a single to right, scoring Kuhn, putting the Snappers back on top, 5-4.

After the first two Bees' hitters were retired in the bottom of the seventh inning, Erick Salcedo lined a single to left. Jake Yacinich hit a high fly ball to center that was lost in the lights by center fielder James Harris, allowing Salcedo to score, making it a 5-5 game.

Wade Wass led off the bottom of the ninth with a solo home run, off the scoreboard in right center field, his first home run of the season, giving the Bees the 6-5 win over Beloit. Ronnie Muck (2-1) tossed two scoreless innings in relief for the win. Beloit reliever, Corey Miller (2-1) was charged with the loss.
