Pitching Shines in Bees National TV Victory

June 5, 2015

NASHVILLE (JUNE 4)- Five Salt Lake pitchers combined to allow no earned runs, as the Bees downed the Nashville Sounds 4-2 on Thursday night. Zach Stewart, Frank Herrmann, Alex Sanabia, Vinnie Pestano and Jeremy McBryde worked their way into and out of trouble, as they delivered only two three up, three down innings. On three occasions, Nashville had runners at first and second with no outs, but did not score. Sanabia (1-4), in his first game off of the disabled list, earned the win with two scoreless innings and McBryde notched his seventh save by escaping a runners at second and third and one out jam in the ninth.

The game was tied at 2-2 in the seventh when Alex Yarbrough singled and advanced to third on a single by Kyle Kubitza. C.J. Cron followed by grounding into a double play to bring home Yarbrough with the go ahead run. Salt Lake would add an insurance run in the eighth on a throwing error. Roger Kieschnick led the Bees with two hits, including his team leading seventh home run of the season, and one RBI, while Kubitza and Daniel Robertson each added a pair of hits.
