Nathan Orf returns to Biloxi from Triple-A Colorado Springs

Orf hit .333 with seven doubles, two triples and 11 RBI for the SkySox

BILOXI, MS. - The Milwaukee Brewers have announced the following roster moves that affect the Shuckers' roster prior to Tuesday night's series opener against the Mississippi Braves at MGM Park. INF Nathan Orf has been transferred to Biloxi from Triple-A Colorado Springs. C Parker Berberet has been transferred to rookie Helena from Biloxi.

Orf, 26, returns to Biloxi after appearing in 25 games with the Triple-A Colorado Springs SkySox. Orf posted a .333 (27x81) batting average with seven doubles, two triples, 11 RBI, eight walks, five stolen bases and a .402 on-base percentage. Orf was promoted to the SkySox on April 28 and in 19 games for the Shuckers batted .268 (15x56) with two doubles, an RBI, 12 walks, two stolen bases and a .440 on-base percentage.

The St. Charles, MO native has a career .288 batting average over four professional seasons and a career .386 on-base percentage. Orf was signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Brewers in 2013 out of Baylor University.

Berberet, 26, has been transferred back to the Helena roster and in just two at-bats this season for the Shuckers is 1-for-2. Over six professional seasons, the backstop has a .251 career average with 20 home runs and 130 RBIs in 329 games. Defensively, the 2011 draft pick has thrown out 36 percent of attempted base stealers.

The Long Beach, CA native was Milwaukee's 25th round selection in 2011 out of Oregan State University.

The Shuckers have today off in recognition of Memorial Day, but will head back to action on Tuesday night at MGM Park to welcome in the Mississippi Braves for five games. Former Mississippi State Bulldog RHP Brandon Woodruff (0-2, 8.00) takes the mound in the opener for Biloxi, while RHP Andrew Thurman (0-4, 5.21) counters for Mississippi. The contest also marks game one of a stretch of 20 consecutive games before the All-Star break. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m., with coverage starting at 6:50 p.m. on the Biloxi Shuckers' Radio Network's flagship station WGCM 1240 AM, 100.9 FM, Pascagoula's WPMO 1580 AM and the TuneIn Radio app.

Tuesday night features Gautier and Vancleave Community Night at MGM Park. The promotions continue on Thursday with Double Play Thursday $2 ballpark favorites on Thursday, Biloxi Shuckers T-Shirt Giveaway, presented by the Mississippi National Guard on Friday, June 3rd and another Post-Game Fireworks Show on Saturday, June 4th.
