Wilson & Indians Pen Combine To No-Hit Bulls
Wilson (2-3, 3.00) was dominant in the Sunday evening affair, but was lifted by Indy manager Dean Treanor in the 8th after throwing his 107th pitch. The Fresno State alum was given a standing ovation by Bulls fans, who roundly booed Treanor upon the skipper's walk back to the dugout. It was the first time the Bulls were no-hit since August 1st, 2004, when Tetsu Yofu tossed a no-no against the team in Charlotte.
Bulls starter Alex Cobb (0-3, 3.81) suffered the loss, despite only allowing two earned runs in 6 1/3 innings pitched. Indianapolis got on the board in the second, when Jake Fox scored on a double play grounder. In the next frame, Sterling Marte continued his torrid series by blasting a solo home run to put the Indians up by two, all the support Wilson and company would need.
The Bulls and Indians wrap up their four game series on Monday afternoon at 1:05pm. The Indians will send LHP Jeff Locke (2-1, 3.86) to the hill to take on RHP Matt Torra (1-2, 6.85).
