Sea Dogs Stun New Hampshire with 10-9 Win in Extras
Back-to-back doubles by Reynaldo Rodriguez and Dan Butler put the Dogs in front in the 11th inning. Peter Hissey's two-out RBI single scoring Dan Butler proved to be the game winner as the Fisher Cats got one of their own in their last at bat making it Portland's eighth win in its last 10 games.
Portland jumped out to a 2-0 advantage before New Hampshire got to bat. Jackie Bradley Jr. led-off the game with a single and came around to score on a bases loaded walk from Peter Hissey. Ronald Bermudez was hit by a pitch immediately after forcing Marquez Smith to the plate.
Sea Dogs' starter Will Latimer lasted 2/3 of an inning giving up seven runs on five hits. Seven of the nine New Hampshire position players hit safely in the first with two hits coming off of Latimer's replacement Jason Urquidez.
The two run Sea Dogs' lead was short lived as Brian Van Kirk had the dagger hitting a grand slam off of Latimer making the score 6-2. Two addition runs came across for New Hampshire making the first inning tally 8-2. Brian Bocock scored on a John Tolisano sacrifice fly and Ryan Goins singled home Jake Marisnick capping the eight run frame.
Portland began chipping away at New Hampshire's six run lead and Jason Urquidez gave the Sea Dogs' an opportunity to do it with a strong relief outing. Urquidez gave up one run in the first after taking over for Latimer but shutout the Fisher Cats giving up no hits stretching from the second to the fifth inning. Urquidez also struck out three batters.
The Dogs pushed a run across in the second, fifth and sixth innings cutting the Fisher Cats' lead to three. Jeremy Hazelbaker, Ronald Bermudez and Marquez Smith each earned a RBI in those innings paving the way for Bradley's three-run bomb tying the game in the 8th.
Caleb Clay and Josh Fields combined for five scoreless innings out of the bullpen. Clay gave up one hit and striking out two and Fields struck out three in his three innings of work. Brock Huntzinger picked up his fourth save of the season giving up a run in the 11th off of two hits.
New Hampshire sent six pitcher's to the mound in Friday's defeat. Michael Dubee (2-4) was tagged with the loss giving up two runs on three hits. Starter Ryan Tepera got a no decision going 4.2 innings giving up four runs on seven hits while striking out five.

Portland and New Hampshire will take the field at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium for game three of the four game series Saturday at 7:05 PM.
