Scott Richmond, Syracuse

Though he hasn't recorded a win since making his first start of the season at the Triple-A level on June 28, Richmond has been impressive. His most recent outing, a 4-1 loss to Durham in which he picked up a no-decision, was a seven-inning, shutout performance. Richmond fanned 10 Bulls, upping his four-start total at Triple-A to 24. He's walked three batters since being promoted and boasts a 1.67 ERA.
Pacific Coast League
Brandon Knight, New Orleans
1-0, 0.00 ERA, 1 G, 1 GS, 6.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 12 SO
Knight won his fifth game of the season and his third consecutive start Saturday against Albuquerque. He struck out a season-high 12 in six scoreless innings, scattering three hits. His previous high was eight, when he made his first start of the season on June 14.
Eastern League
Phil Coke, Trenton
2-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 14.0 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 5 BB, 21 SO
Trenton sweeps the EL Player of the Week awards, and Coke, the Thunders' ace, made two brilliant starts to compliment teammate Austin Jackson's superb week. He combined to strike out 21 batters this week in two appearances -- one an eight-inning relief outing -- spanning 14 shutout innings. Coke's 109 strikeouts rank second in the Eastern League.
Southern League
Todd Redmond, Mississippi
0-0, 0.00 ERA, 1 G, 1 GS, 8.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 6 SO
Though he didn't pick up the win in Thursday's 3-2 loss, Redmond did everything he could to keep his team from losing. The right-hander tossed eight innings of one-hit baseball, striking out six while walking two. It's easily his best performance of the season as he hasn't allowed fewer than four hits all season.
Texas League
Vince Mazzaro, Midland RockHounds
2-0, 0.64 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 14 IP, 8 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 15 SO
Mazzaro, who's been a rock for the RockHounds all season long, made his 19th and 20th starts of the season last week. Tuesday against Corpus Christi, he scattered four hits and fanned 10 through eight scoreless innings. Sunday against San Antonio, he allowed one run and struck out five in six frames. Most impressive, perhaps, was the fact he walked nobody in either outing.
California League
Derek Holland, Bakersfield
2-0, 1.93 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 14.0 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 14 SO
Holland picked a great time to get hot. After getting called up to Bakersfield and making his first two starts of the season in Class A Advanced, he garnered a Pitcher of the Week award. Monday, he picked up the win, tossing six innings and allowing three earned runs. Holland was far better Saturday when he tossed eight innings of two-hit, one-run ball, while striking out nine.
Carolina League
Edward Cegarra, Wilmington

Wilmington follows Trenton's lead and sweeps the Carolina League Player of the Week categories as well. Cegarra has had a mediocre season thus far, but turned in what is easily his best performance of the season Thursday against Salem. The right-hander struck out five in eight shutout innings. He hadn't pitched a shutout the entire season and didn't make it past the seventh inning in any of his previous nine outings.
Florida State League
Scott Carroll, Sarasota
1-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 15.0 IP, 10 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 10 SO
Carroll picked up his first win since June 20 with an eight-inning shutout on Saturday against Palm Beach and may have had an even more impressive performance Monday against Sarasota in a 1-0 loss in which he fanned eight in seven scoreless frames. It's the first time a Sarasota pitcher has tossed back-to-back shutouts this season and the performances helped lower his ERA to 3.39.
Midwest League
Matthew Klinker, Dayton
2-0, 1.50 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 12.0 IP, 11 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 9 SO
Klinker recorded two wins this week, giving him three straight starts with a win. In both outings, he lasted six innings, allowing one earned run in each and scattering a combined 11 hits. He struck out a total of nine batters while walking one and lowering his ERA to 3.40 on the season.
South Atlantic League
Madison Bumgarner, Augusta
1-0, 0.00 ERA, 1 G, 1 GS, 7.0 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 11 SO
The Giants' heralded pitching prospect -- 2007 10th overall Madison Bumgarner -- continues to enjoy a successful rookie campaign. He recorded his eighth shutout performance of the season Wednesday tossing seven innings of four-hit ball while fanning a season-high 11 batters. He's got 104 strikeouts and 1.79 ERA this season.
Appalachian League
Angelo Paulino, Danville
0-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 1 GS, 8.0 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 14 SO
In two appearances last week -- one relief outing -- the 6-foot-4 right-hander fanned 14 batters in eight scoreless innings. It was a nice recovery for Paulino, after he allowed eight runs in a start the week prior.
New York-Penn League
Brock Huntzinger, Lowell
2-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 1 CG, 1 SHO, 11.0 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 7 SO
Huntzinger has been a constant all season for the Spinners. He hasn't lost yet and upped his record to 4-0 with two wins last week. Sunday's performance was masterful, as he recorded the second complete-game shutout in the NYPL this season, one-hitting Tri-City, striking out four and lowering his ERA to 0.49.
Robert Bell, Auburn
0-0, 1 SV, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 6.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 9 SO
Bell is one of three relievers to garner Pitcher of the Week honors. He tossed 6 1/3 innings of hitless ball recording his second save of the season Friday against Hudson Valley. Bell struck out nine batters between the two outings. What's most impressive, the 6-foot-4 right-hander has yet to walk a batter in 13 1/3 innings of work and has struck out 20.
Northwest League
Bubba O'Donnell, Boise
2-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 4.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 SO
O'Donnell is the second reliever to be named his league's Pitcher of the Week. After a rocky start to the season, which has led to his still-lofty 6.05 ERA, the 6-foot-2 right-hander has recorded wins in his last four outings. He scattered two hits and struck out four in 4 1/3 scoreless innings innings last week.
Pioneer League
Lucas Luetge, Helena
2-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 1 GS, 9.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 SO
Though he's only appeared in five games this season, he's still managed to win four in a row. The 6-foot-3 southpaw struck out six batters and allowed an unearned run in a combined nine innings last week. The third reliever to garner Pitcher of the Week honors maintained his spotless 0.00 ERA and has 13 strikeouts in 14 innings pitched this season.
