Oklahoma City - The Iowa Cubs hit two three-run home runs on the way to a 7-2 win against the Oklahoma City Dodgers Monday night in a game shortened due to inclement weather at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
The game was called after the top of the sixth inning after a delay of 1 hour, 15 minutes as strong storms moved through the Oklahoma City metro area.

The Dodgers had a chance to take an early lead in the series opener between the teams as they began their final homestand of the 2019 season.
Oklahoma City (59-73) loaded the bases with one out in the second inning after Kyle Garlick hit a one-out single, Zach McKinstry followed with a ground-rule double and José Lobatón drew a walk. But Iowa starting pitcher Tyson Miller got OKC pitcher Mitchell White to strike out and infielder Gavin Lux to ground out to escape the jam and keep the game in a scoreless tie.
Iowa (71-62) took the lead in its next at-bat In the top of the third inning when pitcher Miller hit a three-run homer into the Dodgers' bullpen in left-center field for a 3-0 Iowa lead.
The Dodgers got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third inning. Connor Joe and Edwin Ríos led off with back-to-back singles before a RBI single by Zach Reks brought home Joe. A wild pitch with two outs later allowed Ríos to score from third base and cut Iowa's lead to 3-2.
But Iowa would tack on four more runs in the top of the fifth inning to break open the game. Phillip Evans hit a RBI single to put Iowa in front by two runs. Robel Garcia later hit a three-run homer for a 7-2 Iowa advantage.
The game then went into a delay with inclement weather imminent and was later called with strong storms in the area and heavy rain falling in Bricktown. A game is considered official after five innings of play are completed and Monday's game lasted 5 ½ innings.
Miller (3-4) picked up the win for Iowa, allowing two runs and seven hits over 5.0 innings with one walk and six strikeouts. Dodgers starting pitcher White (3-6) was charged with the loss, allowing three runs and three hits over 3.0 innings. He did not issue a walk and recorded five strikeouts.
The Dodgers have now lost a season-high seven straight games.
Oklahoma City and the I-Cubs continue their series at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
