(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- The Charlotte Knights dropped game two of their four-game series against the Louisville Bats by a score of 4-3 on Friday afternoon in 10 innings from BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte. The loss allowed the Bats to tie up the series at 1-1. Charlotte earned a 9-4 victory in Thursday's opener.

The Knights trailed 3-1 into the bottom of the ninth inning, but rallied late to tie the game at 3-3. Left fielder Charlie Tilson connected on a two-run single in the bottom of the ninth inning, which pushed the Knights into extra innings. Tilson finished the game 3-for-5 with a run scored, a stolen base, and two RBIs.

In the top of the 10th, Josh VanMeter singled home C.J. McElroy for the go-ahead run of the game. The RBI single came off RHP Ryan Burr (0-1, 0.00), who was saddled with the loss. The winning run was an unearned run since McElroy was placed at second base to start the inning due to the new 2018 extra-innings rule.

RHP Spencer Adams started for the Knights and allowed just one run on just three hits over six innings. Adams, who did not factor in the decision, walked three batters and struck-out three.

The Knights will continue their seven-game homestand on Saturday night at BB&T Ballpark and host the Bats in game three of their four-game series. Pre-game radio coverage of Saturday's 7:04 p.m. game is set for 6:50 p.m. on 730 The Game ESPN Charlotte. The "Voice of the Charlotte Knights" Matt Swierad and long-time Knights radio broadcaster Mike Pacheco will have the call for all of the action.
