“Safe at Home with Paws and Sox” debuts Friday, May 8

The half-hour kids' show presented by Vertikal6 features messages from PawSox players, as well as baseball tips, stories, and humor.

PAWTUCKET, RI – The PawSox will debut a half-hour show designed for children tonight at 7 p.m. (EDT) on pawsox.com and gowoosox.com. “Safe at Home with Paws and Sox,” presented by Vertikal6, provides greetings from such PawSox personnel as Manager Billy McMillon, Hitting Coach Rich Gedman, and first baseman Josh Ockimey, as well as messages from Red Sox stars Mo Vaughn and Lenny DiNardo. Third baseman Jantzen Witte demonstrates his hobby: woodworking.

Filled with tips, stories, and humor from PawSox front office members, the show teaches how to practice at home with half a tennis ball, dissects a baseball to reveal the small rubber ball inside, and even includes jump rope lessons.

Also included are do-it-yourself lessons for artistic “Mother's Day Cards,” just in time.

“Our players and front office members pitched in to provide some lite fare for children,” said club president Dr. Charles Steinberg. “We set aside high production values to provide some interesting anecdotes about baseball, some welcome words from our ballplayers, and some stories that we hope will allow us to provide a brief diversion for all of the kids—and parents—who are ‘safe at home.’

“We are grateful to our friends at Vertikal 6, our Information Technology partner, for keeping our IT systems running so that we could create such a show from various and remote locations. From transmissions via cell phones to Microsoft Teams and Zoom technology, this show could only be cobbled together with Vertikal 6’s support and service.”

Fans will hear from McMillon in South Carolina, Ockimey in Philadelphia, and Witte in Texas, among others dispersed around the country.

After its debut, children can continue to access the show at any time on the club’s websites. It will also be distributed on the club’s social media platforms.
