Drew Ward gave the Senators a three-run lead in the sixth when he blasted a pitch from Baez over the left field fence for a two-run home run as the Senators took a 4-1 lead.
"(Drew's) starting to figure some stuff out. He's had a lot shorter swing the last few weeks and he's giving himself a chance by getting some good pitches to hit," Senators manager Matt LeCroy said. "Hopefully he'll continue to do what he's doing and he'll carry it over."
Baez (0-3) surrendered four runs, three earned, on six hits over five frames.

Ward was the only Senators to finish with multiple hits and multiple RBI, as he went 2-4 with a home run and two RBI. The Senators have won five straight games for the first time since August 23-26, 2016.
"In all of our phases we're doing a lot better and we're more consistent. We're catching the ball, throwing more strikes and getting some big hits," LeCroy said. "Situationally we're doing a little bit better job of driving runners in and our bullpen is doing a little better in different spots. A lot of things are coming together really nicely."
"We just have to keep working and preparing every day to go out and be great. The guys have a little confidence right now. It's a good group and they've got good chemistry. Now we just have to carry it over and keep winning."
The Senators finish the homestand with a four-game series against the Altoona Curve which begins Friday night. The Senators send
