Rome, GA - The Rome Braves began the month of June just like the months of April and May, with a win. Rome topped Columbia Friday evening at State Mutual Stadium 7-1 before a crowd of 2,092. 
The Braves plated three runs in the third on Izzy Wilson's (3) two run homer and Jean Carlos Encarnacion's RBI single for the 3-0 lead. In the fifth, Rome scored four times highlighted by Encarnacion's double to plate two runs, Derian Cruz's RBI double, and Austin Bush's double to score Cruz for the 7-0 score. The Braves pitching held the Fireflies to four hits in the game to get the 7-1 win. 
Hayden Deal (4-0) gets the victory in relief for Rome and Columbia starter Anthony Kay (2-3) is tagged with the loss. Starter for Rome, Atlanta Braves pitcher Mike Soroka pitched well on a rehab stint going 3.2 innings allowing no hits, runs, or walks while striking out three. Soroka threw 45 pitches and 28 were strikes.
