Portland, Maine- Sunday's Portland Sea Dogs game against the Reading Fightin Phils has been postponed due to unplayable field conditions. No make-up date has been scheduled yet.

On Friday, April 20th we completed a field project that regraded and resurfaced the infield dirt and brought in 28 tons of new product for the surface. During the process of the new product integrating with the existing product, we received significant rain on April 25th lasting into the morning hours of April 26th which halted the integration progress and the new layer held in the water, making the infield unplayable. Since then our grounds crew has worked almost around the clock to turn the field over and assist the drying process. Saturday's sun and wind helped with the process but it was determined by the umpire crew and field managers at 5:00 PM that the field wasn't going to be safe to play on for Saturday's game. As of Sunday morning, the infield remains soft but has improved. At this point, it is an hour-by-hour process to dry out and get safe to play. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Tickets for Sunday's postponed game may be exchanged for tickets of equal or lesser value to any remaining 2018 Sea Dogs home game, subject to availability. Any questions regarding rained out tickets can be directed to the Sea Dogs Ticket Office at 207-879-9500 or [email protected]
This is the Sea Dogs fifth postponement at Hadlock Field this season.
