The Road to Indy Leads to Home - The Pawtucket Red Sox and the IL West-leading Indianapolis Indians (AAA-Pittsburgh) open a 3-game weekend series at Victory Field in downtown Indianapolis beginning tonight at 7:15 pm. The clubs will also play tomorrow at 7:05 pm and Sunday at 1:35 pm in the series (and Pawtucket's) roadtrip finale. The PawSox will fly back to Rhode Island after the game on Sunday and return to action at McCoy Stadium this Monday night at 7:05 pm (live on NESN) vs. the Norfolk Tides who are once again led by former PawSox manager Ron Johnson and former Sox pithcing coach Mike Griffin). That will start a 7-game homestand that will include three games vs. Norfolk (Mon. & Tues. at 7:05 pm and Wed. at 12:05 pm) followed by four games vs. the IL South-leading Durham Bulls this coming Thur. & Fri. at 7:05 pm and next Sat. at 6:15 pm & Sun. at 1:35 pm.
Home Field Advantage - Indianapolis has the 2nd best home record in the league at 36-21 (Lehigh Valley is tops with their 38-21 mark at home). Pawtucket, meanwhile, has the worst road record in the IL at 22-34.
When Last We Met - Two months ago, the PawSox hosted Indianapolis at McCoy Stadium in a 3-game series that featured three blowout victories. The Indians rolled in the first two games by 8-1 and 7-1 scores but the Sox salvaged the finale, 11-1 on June 10.
