JULY 13th                         SYRACUSE (37-52)     at     PAWTUCKET (42-46)      7:05 pm
Syracuse Chiefs LHP Tommy Milone (5-4, 4.47) vs. Pawtucket Red Sox LHP Drew Pomeranz (0-1, 7.20)
Repeat Business - The Pawtucket Red Sox look to win back-to-back games for the first time in almost three weeks when they play the second of their 4-game series against the Syracuse Chiefs (AAA-Washington) tonight at 7:05 pm at McCoy Stadium (live on YurView on COX in RI and Spectrum3 in Worcester). The PawSox returned to action last night following the three-day Triple-A All-Star break and began this series (and 4-game homestand) with a 7-3 victory…scoring their most runs in a game since an 8-1 win over Syracuse on June 24 (15 games ago). This evening the PawSox will bid to win two in a row for the first time since June 24 (8-1 vs. Syracuse) and June 25 (3-2 at Buffalo). Pawtucket has gone win, loss, loss, win, loss, win, loss, win to get to 4-4 thus far in July.
This Series and Homestand - The 5th-place PawSox and the last-place Chiefs play again tonight at 7:05 pm, tomorrow (Saturday) at 6:15 pm, and Sunday at 1:35 pm. Incredibly, tonight is one of just four home Friday night games remaining this season for the PawSox. Tomorrow (Saturday) starts with a Free Youth Clinic from 2:00 - 3:15 and ends with a post-game fireworks display to a musical Margaritaville Night theme and Sunday is another Family FUNday afternoon at McCoy with the added bonus of an appearance by former PawSox and Red Sox pitcher Bronson Arroyo as he returns to help fans celebrate the 15th Anniversary of his Perfect Game at McCoy from August 10, 2003 vs. Buffalo.
Baker's Dozen - Pawtucket has won 2 of their last 3 games and 3 of 5. They have, however, dropped 9 of their last 13 games since June 26 and have scored 2 runs or less in 8 of those 13 games (39 runs total for an average of exactly 3 runs/game). The Sox are hitting .213 in their last 13 games (89-for-418). Pitchers are 4-9 with a 3.73 ERA (47 ER in 113.1 IP).
Home Had Been Sweet - Pawtucket has lost 4 of their last 6 at home after winning 5 of their previous 6 gasmes at McCoy from June 19-24. The PawSox are 24-22 at home (they had equaled their season-high of 4-games over .500 at McCoy on June 24). The Sox are 18-24 on the road.
