Back to Work - The Pawtucket Red Sox conclude their 3-game weekend series (and road trip) in Rochester today at 1:05 p.m. at Frontier Field in Rochester, New York. Following a 2-0 loss in Friday night's opener and a 2-1 defeat Saturday, the PawSox play this afternoon to complete Pawtucket's second straight weekend in New York (last weekend the Sox dropped 3 of 4 in Syracuse during a 1-6 roadtrip to Lehigh Valley and the 'Cuse).
Rehab Recap - Dustin Pedroia, Tyler Thornburg and Austin Maddox all flashed positive signs in their rehab assignments Friday. Pedroia batted second as the designated hitter and worked a pair of walks in an 0-for-2 night. Maddox (seventh) and Thornburg (eighth) each fired scoreless innings in which they each allowed just a single and collected a strikeout. On Saturday, Pedroia played six innings at second base, made a few crisp plays defensively and went 0-for-3 out of the third spot in the order. Thornburg worked on consecutive days for the first time this season and walked a pair, generating one out and throwing a total of 11 pitches.
