Sea Dogs extend win streak to 14 with 6-3 win

Portland, Maine- The Portland Sea Dogs won their 14th consecutive game Tuesday night at Hadlock Field defeating the Harrisburg Senators 6-3 before a sold-out crowd of 7,368. Chris Sale tossed 3 2/3 hitless innings in a MLB rehab start for the Sea Dogs. Sale struck out six and walked one.

Portland, Maine- The Portland Sea Dogs won their 14th consecutive game Tuesday night at Hadlock Field defeating the Harrisburg Senators 6-3 before a sold-out crowd of 7,368.

Chris Sale tossed 3 2/3 hitless innings in a MLB rehab start for the Sea Dogs. Sale struck out six and walked one.

The game was scoreless until Harrisburg’s Aldrem Corredor hit a two-run homer off Andrew Politi in the sixth inning, his sixth of the year.

Portland responded with five runs in the bottom half of the inning to take a 5-2 lead and never looked back. Devlin Granberg doubled to left field to score Jeisson Rosario for Portland’s first run. Pedro Castellanos tied the game when he scored on a passed ball. Ronaldo Hernandez, Tanner Nishioka, and Grant Williams each chipped in with RBI singles in the inning.

Portland added a run in the eighth inning on a Ryan Fitzgerald RBI double off the Maine Monster.

Jackson Cluff hit a home run in the ninth for the Senators.

Politi (4-7) was credit with the win tossing 4 1/3 innings in relief holding the Senators to three runs on seven hits. Politi struck out six and walked two.

Tyler Olson earned his first save retiring the final two batters of the game.

The Sea Dogs and Senators play game two of the series Wednesday night at 6:00 PM. Right-handed pitcher Kutter Crawford (2-2, 3.35) will start for Portland. Harrisburg will send righty Andrew Lee (2-4, 4.78) to the mound. Radio coverage on the WPEI Sea Dogs Radio Network, built by General Dynamics/ Bath Iron Works, begins at 5:45 PM.
