Portland, Maine- Portland Sea Dogs’ outfielder Izzy Wilson has been named the Eastern League Player of the Week for the week of July 4-10.

Wilson appeared in five games during the week where he hit .474 (9-for-19) with two doubles, a triple, a home run, seven runs scored, and eight RBI. He led the league in average (.474), Slugging % (.842), and OPS (1.366).

The 24-year-old has produced multiple-hit games in his last four games including a three-hit performance on Sunday afternoon in Binghamton, New York.

The Red Sox signed the Santo Domingo, DR resident as a minor league free agent on January 5, 2022.

Prior to joining the Red Sox organization, he spent time in the Braves (2015-2019), Rays (2019-2020), and Angels (2021) organizations.

Wilson is the second Sea Dogs’ player to honor the honor this season joining Pedro Castellanos who earned the accolade for the week of June 13-19. Additionally, three Sea Dogs’ pitchers have taken home Eastern League Pitcher of the Week honors this season: Chris Murphy (June 20-26), Victor Santos (May 30-June 5), and Brayan Bello (May 2-8).

The Sea Dogs are in first place in the Eastern League Eastern Division with a 10-2 record in the second half. The Sea Dogs begin a six-game homestand on Tuesday, July 12th against the Somerset Patriots (Yankees). The homestand is highlighted by a Rafael Devers bobblehead giveaway (July 12), Fireworks (July 15), and Marvel’s Defenders of the Diamond game on July 16th.
