First-Place Redbirds Set For Playoff Push In Final Homestand Through Wednesday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Memphis Redbirds begin their final regular season homestand on Wednesday, playing host to the Sacramento River Cats (Triple-A Athletics) and Fresno Grizzlies (Triple-A Giants) at AutoZone Park. The Redbirds are ending the year with a bang, setting off the final fireworks display of the season and giving away a commemorative Carlos Martinez bobblehead.

Wednesday, August 20 vs. Sacramento River Cats at 7:05 p.m. (gates open at 6:00 p.m.)

  • Series Opener: The Redbirds open their last homestand of the season as they battle with the River Cats.

Thursday, August 21 vs. Sacramento River Cats at 7:05 p.m. (gates open at 6:00 p.m.)

  • Michelob Ultra Patio Package: Fans can purchase the Michelob Ultra Patio Package that includes a 16 oz. Michelob Ultra and a Field Box ticket. Michelob Ultras will also be available for $3 above section 123 on the concourse in right field throughout the game. (Note: Must be 21 or older to purchase. We I.D.)

Friday, August 22 vs. Sacramento River Cats at 7:05 p.m. (gates open at 5:00 p.m.)

  • FedEx Carlos Martinez Bobblehead Giveaway: The Redbirds are giving 2,000 fans the opportunity to own a Carlos Martinez bobblehead. It is the last in a series of three bobbleheads and displays the former Redbirds prospect in his windup.
  • FedEx Racing Night: NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin's #11 racecar will be at the ballpark to deliver a commemorative game ball.
  • Coors Light Block Party: Gates open early for the final Block Party of 2014, which features 16 oz. Coors Lights for $2 and live music from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the AutoZone Park plaza.
  • Boy Scout Night: Boy Scout groups are invited to AutoZone Park and will be given a commemorative patch along with the opportunity to camp out on the field following the game (weather permitting).
  • MLBPAA Silent Auction: The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association will be hosting a silent auction behind home plate on the concourse that includes autographed memorabilia from current and former players.
  • Teacher Appreciation Night: The Redbirds are offering a special discounted ticket price to local teachers and administrators by calling (901) 722-0283.

Saturday, August 23 vs. Sacramento River Cats at 6:05 p.m. (gates open at 5:00 p.m.)

  • Superhero & Comic Night: The Redbirds are saluting those who want to relive their childhood, encouraging fans to come to the ballpark dressed in their favorite superhero or comic character.
  • Postgame Fireworks: The last fireworks extravaganza of 2014 will follow the game set to superhero-themed music.
  • Signature Saturday: Select Redbird players will sign autographs in the plaza from 5:00-5:30 p.m.
  • Baby Races: The fastest babies in town will be on display in the fourth of five races at AutoZone Park this season, presented by Fertility Associates of Memphis.
  • MLBPAA Silent Auction: The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association will be hosting a silent auction behind home plate on the concourse that includes autographed memorabilia from current and former players.
  • Sports Media Night: All sports media professionals are welcome to attend this behind-the-scenes look that includes a brief seminar with the Redbirds front office and the chance to watch pre-game batting practice.
  • MHEA Night: The Redbirds are offering discounted ticket prices to those involved in the Memphis Home Education Association by calling (901) 722-0294.

Sunday, August 24 vs. Fresno Grizzlies at 6:05 p.m. (gates open at 5:00 p.m.)

  • Health & Fitness Night: This special night gives all gym and fitness gurus the chance to participate in "Redbird Olympics" and a discounted ticket price by calling (901) 722-0270.
  • Kids Run the Bases: Kids 12 and under get to take the field after the game for the final time in 2014 and run like the Redbirds.

Monday, August 25 vs. Fresno Grizzlies at 7:05 p.m. (gates open at 6:00 p.m.)

  • Memphis and Fresno clash for the second game of the series.

Tuesday, August 26 vs. Fresno Grizzlies at 7:02 p.m. (gates open at 6:00 p.m.)

  • TWOsday: Tuesdays are now "TWO"-sdays at AutoZone Park featuring $2 hot dogs, popcorn, soft drinks, special in-game giveaways, and $2 off Bud Lights.

Wednesday, August 27 vs. Fresno Grizzlies at 7:05 p.m. (gates open at 6:00 p.m.)

  • Regular Season Home Finale: All fans in attendance will receive a Field Box ticket voucher good for any 2015 regular season home game, excluding fireworks dates.
  • 2015 Season Magnet Schedule Giveaway: The Redbirds are concluding the year at AutoZone Park by giving away 5,000 magnet schedules of the 2015 season and releasing the date for next year's Exhibition Game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
  • Fan Appreciation Night: Fun activities are planned all night long while fans have opportunities to win numerous giveaways every inning, including autographed memorabilia.

Following the eight-game homestand, Memphis will travel south to face off against the division-rival New Orleans Zephyrs (Triple-A Marlins) for the last five games of the regular season.
