Summary
Akron's Francisco Mejía socked a three-run homer and drove in four RBI, and right-hander Shane Bieber earned his first Double-A win, as the RubberDucks throttled the Reading Fightin Phils, 14-4, Friday night at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading, Pa.

Turning Point
Holding a 3-1 lead, the RubberDucks (54-55) sent nine batters to the plate in the fourth inning against Reading starter Cole Irvin (5-2). Todd Hankins and Mejia each drilled two-out, three-run homers to extend the lead to 9-1. For Hankins, it was his second of the year, and for Mejia, it was homer number 11.
Winging It
Bieber (1-1) was sensational from the start, going six full innings in his third Akron start. He scattered six hits and allowed one run while walking none and striking out seven. Bieber threw 92 pitches, 60 of which were strikes. The win is his first at the Double-A level, but among three stops in the Indians minor league system this year, he has won nine games.
Duck Tales
The RubberDucks socked four homers in the game. Eric Haase drilled his team-high 21st of the season in the second to give the Ducks a 1-0 lead. After the prolific fourth inning that produced the three-run bombs by Mejia and Hankins, Taylor Murphy went deep in the fifth inning when he crushed a two-run shot to center to give Akron an 11-1 lead. It was his first swing of the season after sitting out the first three months following surgery to repair torn ligament in his right thumb.
