Summary
Altoona's Jordan Luplow homered, and right-hander Austin Coley earned his first Double-A win, as the Curve defeated the Akron RubberDucks, 4-1, to complete a doubleheader sweep Sunday afternoon at Canal Park.

Turning Point
After Connor Joe reached on an error to open the second inning, Luplow cranked a two-run homer to right off Akron starter Matt Whitehouse (1-1). It was Luplow's fifth homer and gave the Curve a 2-0 lead.   
Winging It
Whitehouse, making a spot-start in the nightcap, lasted three innings, and allowed three runs. Mitch Brown chipped in a pair of scoreless innings for Akron (11-16). After lefty Sean Keselica started and worked the first three innings for Altoona, Coley (1-1) came on and threw two scoreless innings to claim his first win at the Double-A level. Montana DuRapau closed the final two innings to post his sixth save for the first-place Curve (17-10).
Duck Tales
Eric Stamets tripled and doubled in the second game for Akron. He scored the Ducks' only run in third on a fielder's choice by Mike Papi. Papi had a two-run double in Game 1. Greg Allen left the second game following his first at-bat with what was reported as a right wrist sprain.  
Notebook
In Game 1, Altoona's Connor Joe had three hits and four RBI, and right-hander Yeudy Garcia earned his first win of the year as the Curve beat the Ducks, 6-4…Reigning EL Pitcher of the Week Julian Merryweather (2-1) allowed three runs in 4.2 innings and suffered the loss in Game 1…Time of Games: 2:08/1:50 …Attendance: 6,967.

The RubberDucks will continue the homestand on Monday night at 6:35, when they welcome the Trenton Thunder for the start of a three-game series. The game will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1350 AM, the WARF iHeart channel, and the TuneIn Radio App.
