Summary

Turning Point
Erie's Steven Moya hit a two-run home run in the third inning giving the SeaWolves a 3-1 lead in which the RubberDucks couldn't overcome. 
Winging It
Akron starter Matt Whitehouse tossed five innings giving up three runs on six hits. Erie starter Artie Lewicki was dominant tossing six innings giving up the lone solo home run on four hits and struck out out eight. Akron reliever Robbie Aviles worked two scoreless innings to extend his scoreless inning streak to 14 innings over his last nine outings. Akron All-Star Cameron Hill worked the eight and ran into trouble yielding Moya's second homer of the game. Hill gave up three runs on four hits.
Duck Tales
Akron's Joe Sever hit a solo homer in the first inning to score the lone run for the RubberDucks. Sever was 2-4 on the day. The Akron lineup only mustered five hits and struck out 13 times on the afternoon.
Notebook
Catcher Francisco Mejía was not in Sunday's lineup as he had a scheduled off day… Akron is now one game below .500 sitting at 44-45… Akron is now currently in 4th place in the Western division but is only 3.5 games out of first place… Time of Game: 2:32… Attendance: 3,629.
On Deck
Akron will continue the road trip by traveling to Binghamton for a five game series. On Monday Akron and Binghamton will resume play of their suspended game from 5/13 at 5:35 p.m. prior to the originally slated game at 6:35 p.m. The RubberDucks lead the Rumble Ponies, 6-3, in the 3rd inning in the suspended game. Both games, including the suspended game, will be seven innings. The game will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1350 AM, the WARF iHeart channel, and the TuneIn Radio App.
