Trailing by a run in the top of the ninth, Akron's Taylor Murphy hit a two-run homer to propel the Ducks past the Senators in the slugfest.
Winging It
Akron starter Matt Whitehouse struggled in the first inning giving up four of his five earned runs. Whitehouse's final line was 3.1 innings while giving up five earned on eight hits. Harrisburg's Raudy Read and Yadiel Hernandez each delivered RBI doubles to push the Senators to the early advantage. In relief of Whitehouse, D.J. Brown entered and worked 3.2 innings allowing two runs on two hits while striking out four. Robbie Alives worked one inning in relief giving up one run, a solo homer to Harrisburg's Stephen Perez. Cameron Hill worked a scoreless ninth to record his 13th save of the season.
Duck Tales
Akron rallied from being down 4-0 in the first inning to scoring five runs in the fifth inning. Infielder Joe Sever hit a solo homer, his seventh of the season. In the fourth Greg Allen delivered an RBI double followed by a Joe Sever two-run double. The RubberDucks would take the lead when catcher Francisco Mejía hit an RBI single to right field. The following batter, Bobby Bradley belted his 22nd home run of the season, to give Akron a 6-4 lead. After Harrisburg retook the lead 8-6, Akron tied the game up when Joe Sever hit an RBI ground out.
