Bees Roll to 15-8 Win Over Aviators

The Salt Lake Bees set a season high in runs scored, as they rolled to a 15-8 win over the Las Vegas Aviators on Wednesday night. The Bees were down 2-1 in the third when they plated six runs, highlighted by a three run double by Matt Thaiss. Las Vegas

The Salt Lake Bees set a season high in runs scored, as they rolled to a 15-8 win over the Las Vegas Aviators on Wednesday night. The Bees were down 2-1 in the third when they plated six runs, highlighted by a three run double by Matt Thaiss. Las Vegas would chip away and cut the Bees' lead to 7-6 before Salt Lake broke the game open with four runs in the sixth on an RBI single by Jose Rojas and a three run homer by Dillon Thomas. They would add three more on a three run blast by Jake Gatewood in the seventh inning and he would add a solo shot in the ninth inning.

Gatewood, who pinch hit for David Fletcher in the sixth, went 3 for 3 with two homers and four runs batted in. Thaiss and Thomas each drove in three runs, while Jose Rojas knocked in two. Brian Moran (2-1) pitched one scoreless inning to pick up the win, as the Bees even this series at 1-1 and the season series at 7-7.
